Relax

For many of us, we are comfortable trying to undergo the pain that we suffer than trying to deviate ourselves into a different mood and relax. There are a plethora of techniques to relax - I try to follow or pick up a few according to my mood and environment ....

1. Listen to some calm music. I prefer hearing some instrumental music like romantic tunes on the flute, piano, violin, guitar or get listening to some cool jazz. The other more relaxing is to find a number that has natural sounds like water flowing, the sound of breeze, the rattle of leaves, etc. The bottomline is try to sync with the music and relaxation will come into picture.

2. Try taking a brisk walk. Once again, try this walk in proximity to nature - where you can avoid the maniac called traffic.

3. Take a deep breath and do some relaxation exercises.

4. Try closing your eyes and doing some visualization - like thinking of a calm place, nice greenery, etc.

5. Avoid reading books or seeing TV during the time you need to relax - these add stress to you rather than helping you get of stress.

6. Try drinking a glass of pure water - at normal temperature rather than a cold or hot one and avoid having a caffeine / smoking during the time you need to relax.

When you try to get to adopt and adapt to one or more of these habits, trying to relax comes in naturally. I had tried most of these on one or more occasions - like I used to take long walks during my college days, listen to soft music most of the time or try during some relaxation or meditation - they have helped me alot - especially to tone down my frustration and also to increase my concentration.
