Training Centre

Last weekend, I &my wife had the oppurtunity to visit the Infosys Campus at Mysore, courtesy my friend Senthil. Tucked, deep from the arterial roads, this seems to be only live place there, apart from the ongoing industrial construction at L&T, just on the other side of the road.

The campus was really a taste of what wealth the IT companies have acquired over the years. The campus boasted great gardens, nice buildings and the environment over there reminded me of the cleanliness I had experienced in US during my masters program. The Guest rooms, where we stayed were really great, with TV, connection for Internet (ofcourse, you need to be an Infoscian to get hooked on to the net!!!), neat restrooms, great view of the garden, very airy and provisions such as a safe locker as well as an iron box, made think, ifit was just a training centre / a resort.

More than a resort can have, the campus boosted, atleast four foodcourts, that I visited, a huge cinema theatre( I saw Fast & Furious - 3), bowling lanes, gym, aerobics centre, swimming pool, courts / tables for cricket, basketball, volleyball, badminton, table tennis, tennis, - it was amazing. This is really a recommendation for anyone, who has a chance, to visit the campus. Some clicks from the campus are available at my flickr place.

The environment so positive that I had a great invitation to getup in the early morning at 6 and do a very calm learning - free of any noise and pollution. I haven't experienced such an atmosphere for the past two years and I wish I had this surrounding in Bangalore. Contrast to the Silicon Valley of India, this was campus probably doubled as a resort-cum-workplace for a few of the company. Having this environment will certainly stimulate the mind and make the body feel great.
